How many AIOU regional offices are there in Pakistan?
AIOU operates regional campuses in Islamabad (main campus/HQ), Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. Below the regional level, AIOU has approximately 1,700+ study centres across all districts of Pakistan, including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Each study centre is managed by a local coordinator.
How do I find my AIOU study centre?
Your AIOU study centre is assigned at admission time and appears on your admission confirmation letter and roll number slip. You can also look it up on the AIOU LMS portal at lms.aiou.edu.pk by logging in with your student ID. Contact your regional office if you cannot locate your study centre.
Can I visit an AIOU regional office in person?
Yes. AIOU regional offices are open Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Friday half-day). Bring your CNIC and student roll number for any in-person query. For degree issuance, transcript requests, and official verifications, visit the Islamabad main campus or use the online postal services.
How do I contact AIOU for admission or result queries?
For general queries: call +92-51-9057600 (Islamabad HQ) or email [email protected]. For program-specific admission queries, contact your nearest regional campus. For result or marks queries, use the AIOU result portal at results.aiou.edu.pk. For LMS issues, use the LMS help desk within lms.aiou.edu.pk.
What services does an AIOU study centre provide?
AIOU study centres are managed locally and primarily provide: assignment submission drop-off point, workshop and tutorial session venue, local coordination for examination matters, and first-point-of-contact for student queries. Study centres do not issue degrees or official documents — those come from the regional office or Islamabad HQ.
Does AIOU have offices in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan?
Yes. AIOU has designated study centres in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Bagh) and Gilgit-Baltistan (Gilgit, Skardu). These regions are served through the nearest regional campus. Students in AJK and GB enjoy the same program access as mainland Pakistan students.
